Overview
What are Fujifilm IP / CR cassettes?
In computed radiography, the imaging plate (IP) replaces X-ray film: it stores the latent X-ray image, and a Fujifilm FCR reader scans the plate, digitizes the image and erases it so the cassette can be reused. The cassette protects the plate, defines the image size and carries the barcode/ID used by the reader.
Fujifilm offers several cassette types and imaging plate kinds so a single FCR system can cover everything from chest and long-bone studies to fine-detail extremity and mammography imaging. The key choices for buyers are the plate kind (standard ST-VI or high-resolution HR-V), the cassette type and the size.
